Come to the McAllen Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd and 23rd, and visit Quinta Mazatlán along with other amazing exhibitors for an indoor educational adventure called “Eco Rio”.
“Eco Rio” section will be open from 12 pm to 8 pm with more than 40 nature educational booths! Fiesta de Palmas, “Eco Rio” offers STEAM activities for children consisting of science, technology, engineering arts, and math. Bring your family for this 2-day event and make sure you visit “Eco Rio” an indoor educational adventure where you will be able to see and sometimes touch LIVE native animals of South Texas.

Get your passport, fill it with stickers and win a prize! “Eco Rio” will feature wildlife professionals like Alejandro Millan handling LIVE reptiles, from ball pythons and snapping turtles to lemurs and a macaw! Reptiles not your thing? Stop by the Victoria Texas Zoo booth to meet a LIVE ocelot, fox, skunk, javelina and more! You can also visit Sky Kings Falconry, who are dedicated to the preservation of raptors. The LIVE animals at “Eco Rio” cannot be released back into the wild for health and wellness reasons and instead are used to help educate the public about the importance of conservation. The Native American Bear Clan will also present artifacts, display an authentic teepee, and hold native dances. Stay and listen to the Native American stories (bilingual) and become part of the rich tradition of storytelling.
The event cost is Saturday $5 for adults and free for children under 12 years old. Sunday free for all ages between 11am-5pm. After 5pm Free for children under 12 and $5 for adults.
