Fort Brown Border Patrol Explorers host First “Live” Competition

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – On Saturday, October 6, 2018, the Fort Brown Border Patrol Explorer Post 975 hosted their first “Live” competition in South Padre Island, Texas.

The Weslaco Station Explorer Post #964 prevailed and received five first place trophies, two second place trophies, and Overall Best Explorer Post of the competition as they attained the highest average from seven scenarios.

The teams competed in numerous law enforcement scenarios based on training received by law enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents. The advisors dispatched the explorer teams to engage in seven different scenarios throughout the night in South Padre Island, Texas, as if they were on a regular patrol shift.

“I am extremely proud of our advisors and explorers for the hard work and dedication they bring to the program and in representing both the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol and the South Texas community,” said Special Operations Supervisor Victor Cardenas.
