San Juan, Texas – The City of San Juan held their annual Christmas holiday event, “Noche de Paz” for the community on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The event was a great success, with hundreds of community members participating in the parade, activities, and concert.
“This year’s event was very well attended and we had plenty of entertainment for the community,” said Mayor Mario Garza. “Families enjoyed the many different activities available at the event including live music, photos with Santa, the Grinch, and a carnival,” he continued.
The parade featured students, dancers, bands, local business, and city officials.
“The highlight of the evening is the concert that wraps up the event,” remarked City Manager Ben Arjona. “We had a great line up this year and the community enjoyed the performances.”
The magic of Christmas was certainly in the air during the event as Christmas lights illuminated the night sky and the sounds of holiday music filled the air.
“Spreading the holiday spirit is what this season is all about,” stated Patrick Willingham, San Juan Parks and Recreation Director. “Seeing the happiness in people’s faces as they watched the parade and participated in activities throughout the night was a great moment,” he added.
Attendees listened to live music by Grupo Pesado and Magali Delarosa and enjoyed performances by the PSJA Choir and Mariachi, Mikey Jay, The Melodious B’s, and Arroyo Band.
The event continues to grow each year and the City of San Juan is thankful for the many sponsors who make this event possible for the community including Jesse’s Radiator & Muffler Shop, L&F Distributors – McAllen, San Juan EDC, JC Used Cars 2, Bob Trevino Insurance, Rio Bank of San Juan, North Park Lexus Rio Grande Valley, and Pueblo Tires & Service.
